North American Airlines Pilot Hat Badge 1954

Los Angeles, CA 1954-1956

Part of North American Aircoach System which also included Hemisphere, Trans American, Trans Natonal, Oxnard and Unit Export. By combining all these airines, North American could offer daily low far service coast to coast skirting the CAB's eight flight per month rule. The airline was renamed Trans American Airlines in 1956, They operated C-46, DC-3, DC-4 and DC-6 equipment. Because of the North American case, the CAB decided to change the name of these groups of carriers from Large Irregular Carriers to Supplemental Carriers.
